BENALMADENA
Benalmadena Pueblo represents calm through a picturesque urban landscape of narrow streets and squares.
To visit its historic center, it is recommended to start with the church of Santo Domingo, next to which there is a viewpoint that offers an extraordinary panoramic view of the coast. Very close to this monument are the Gardens of the Wall, designed by César Manrique. To this walk you can add two more stages: the sculpture of the Girl and La Fonda, whose building currently occupies a hospitality school.
Culture manifests itself in very different ways in Benalmadena. The Pre-Columbian Art Museum Felipe Orlando is a must-see for lovers of this genre, as it hosts one of the best collections in Spain.
The most original visits, due to the origin or structure of these buildings, are the Buddhist Stupa of the Lighting, the Castle of Colomares and the Bil Bil Castle, a construction of Arab style that stands out in the landscape of the coast thanks to its red color decorated with tiles. In Benalmadena, in addition, the tourist can visit the three watchtowers that are preserved in the municipality: Torre Bermeja, Torremuelle and Torrequebrada.
